HappyFace:) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use our app and website.

HappyFace:) is the data controller responsible for personal data processed in the app and on the website. HappyFace:) processes personal data in line with GDPR and applicable data protection laws.

  • Onboarding data, such as gender, country, age and height if the user provides it.
  • Content, such as posts, stories, comments, messages, voice messages, GIFs and reactions.
  • Social data, such as friends, followers, connections and user activity.
  • Notification data, such as push notification tokens and VoIP tokens for call delivery.
  • Usage data, such as last active time, language preference, app version, device type and technical events.

3. Why We Process Data

We process data to:

  • Provide and maintain the HappyFace:) service.
  • Enable communication between users.
  • Personalize the user experience.
  • Send activity notifications and call notifications.
  • Secure the platform and prevent misuse.

  • Contract, to provide the service the user created an account for.
  • Legitimate interests, to improve the service, handle security and prevent misuse.
  • Legal obligation, when HappyFace:) must comply with applicable laws and rules.

5. Data Sharing

HappyFace:) only shares data when necessary to provide the service or meet requirements.

  • Firebase by Google may be used for authentication, database, storage, analytics, notifications and crash reporting.
  • Agora may be used for audio and video calls.
  • Supabase may be used where the app uses Supabase features.

Content published in the app may be visible to other users, depending on app features and settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain data while the account is active and as long as it is necessary to provide the service, secure the app, handle errors, prevent misuse or comply with legal requirements.

Users may delete their HappyFace:) account at any time. When an account is deleted, the user's login access to the account is removed. Data already stored in the HappyFace:) database may still be retained.

7. Your Rights

You may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account.

HappyFace:) has a 16+ age rating. People under 16 should not create an account or use the app.

If HappyFace:) becomes aware that a user under 16 has created an account, the account may be removed or restricted in line with app routines and applicable rules.

10. Changes to This Policy

HappyFace:) may update this privacy policy from time to time. For significant changes, users may be notified through the app, website or email.
